Same with me lol I don't like the weather. Some people are a bit fake and nasty. I also dislike the Americanization and I think we should stop following them. I dislike our education system also.
I like the summer, the music, my friends, Watties sauce and fish and chips or a BBQ.
NZ is awesome.

Magic place. Love the scenery, the people (mostly of course - there's always a few drop kicks), the heritage, the food, the best sauvignon blancs and some of the best pinot noirs in the world. Speight's beer. The love of rugby. Speights beer, and the beer is fairly good too.
Annoying, some people get too precious about the friendly rivalry thing between Oz and Enzed. Not sure I'd want to live there because the wages are crap. |

I love NewZealand the lush green rolling hills. most people are friendly but I don't like the weather . I don't think the government does enough as they are rather behind in a lot of areas. I would like to see more people over there which would create more jobs . less pay for the politicians and more money for the elderly and health. free medical for children . they loose such a lot of skilled people because the wages aren't as good as overseas |

NZ is a beautiful country & the culture is amazing. There is so much to love about NZ, like the countryside & all the scenery. The love we have for rugby is seen right through NZ. The food, especially the seafood, as you can get it anywhere. The two things I don't like about NZ is the weather as it can be painfully cold during the winter & the wages cause it's not worth getting out of bed during their winter for peanuts. |

I like our nuclear-free policy. In spite of a few spectacular cock-ups our public health system is very good. I like our sparse population; most NZers take it for granted but I came here from overcrowded Britain. Property here is still more affordable than in most English-speaking countries. I don't like our student loan scheme, flat tax system which lets the rich off too lightly, the national obsession with sport and the streak of wowserism in our national psyche. |

Love everything about NZ - have family there... only thing is the winters ... chopping the 'old firewood, it does get a bit cold. But then again it's nice to have the four seasons. Australia doesn't really in most parts.
But least Nelson is the sunniest place in NZ ! |

I love New Zealand's scenery, its rugged mountains and the Canterbury Plains, and the way the rivers are this really beautiful cloudy pale blue (I've only ever visited the South Island - but have been there 5 times and my mum is from there so we have lots of family there).
I love the friendly people, and I don't really notice any accent because I've been there a lot and my mum has a New Zealand accent - and I don't even notice that.
I don't even mind the weather because I like the cold.
I love how (at least from an Australian perspective) the Maori seem to be more respected and functioning members of New Zealand society than the Australian Aborigines. They seem to have been treated with much more respect historically (although this is from personal observation). I hear there is even a law that there must be a certain amount of Maori in Parliament in New Zealand.
The only thing I find hard to get used to is that all the beaches have dark grey, almost black sand. Coming from Australia which has yellow or even white sand, that is something hard to get used to, but hey, New Zealand has a volcanic geology so it's an interesting difference!!
Oh and edit: I also love the national gemstone, that NZ greenstone or jade. It makes such awesome ornaments, and makes awesome necklaces that even men can wear. In Australia, you'd never see a man wearing an opal necklace, it'd just be too feminine (and expensive). Oh and paua shells! They're really stunning. I have a small collection of paua shells at home. |
