If sports, food, and lifestyle stuff is how you define excitement, I could not think of a better place to come to. This is the capital of all of them if you want my opinion.
If you also get a kick out of boats, sports cars and driving them on curvy mountain roads, paragliding, bungee-jumping, swimming with dolphins, watching penguins, offroading, orienteering, scuba-diving, kayaking, whitewater rafting, hunting, skiing, sitting by the fire with a few beers, barbecues, fishing, collecting Paua mussels, or bodysurfing, windsurfing, or trying out all the pubs and bars and restaurants, shearing sheep, or just doing road trips through breathtaking landscapes with big, powerful, Australian cars with V8 engines or turbo-charged Subarus, you'll find this place anything but boring.

New Zealand is generally not boring, especially if you are into sports, food and lifestyle stuff.

Have you tried a bungy? Ultimate Swing? Tramping through one of our National Parks? Kyack the Abel Tasman? Jet Boat ride through the shotover river? Waitomo and Te-Anua caves?

For god's sake...NZ has heaps to do if you are that way inclined.

We also have, amazing city cultures with music, bars etc etc...

This question is making me angry...are you a deaf, blind mute, wearing a blindfold with earmuffs on, or just a doofus?

Open your eyes man!

You wont get bored in NZ, heaps to do in every city.
Visit Rotorua, stay in a motel with mineral hot pools, go see the glo worms in the caves, skiing - go across the strait on the ferry, visit the Museum in Christchurch.
I could go on and on....
NZ has beautiful women, handsome manly men - great night clubs.

IF YOU SEEK FUN IN NZ YOU WILL FIND IT

Yes, NZ is exceedingly dull. It's cities (excluding Auckland CBD) are grey and monochromatic and the weather is quixotic to say the least. If you love scenery and maritime activities then NZ is for you. If you are looking to jazz up your life then try Sydney, London, or just about any other city in the developed world but not boring NZ.

And yes, I am a born and bred Kiwi.

it's a bit boring sometimes, but you could join community groups to do different activities, at least during winter time. Summer is great because you could go surfing, have BBQ and dine outdoors.
