Is it enough? Please help?
Is it enough to spend time in Auckland for one night?
Is it worth to travel by train for site seeing? Additional Details is it regretful to air plane and not train in travelling
Personally I would skip the train and go site seeing by boat. Take advantage of being in the city of sails. Have a ride on an America's cup boat. Hop on a ferry from downtown Auckland and you can go to Devonport or Waiheke, or just cruise round the harbour.

auckland is a city and is very similar to other cities around the world. Id get out of the CBD and check out some small towns. Train travel in NZ is amazing but only on longer trips to different towns. If you are going to be travelling around auckland only i wouldnt take the train as you wont see anything.

I think you need a min of a week, there is just so much to see and do. It is ok to use the train to get from one place to another, cheaper and easier than driving. I did it and had a blast. I was on the North Island for two weeks and I only saw half of it and only did half of what I wanted to do. Not enough time.
It is a wonderful place and the people are so nice. If you can spend more time ..DO you will not regret it. There is just so much to do. Have fun!!!

It depends what you want to do as there is a lot to do in Auckland and I'd suggest 3 days/2 nights. It is worth travelling by train in the South Island to check out the Southern Alps.

If you want to go shopping, theres really not very much in Auckland (main city area).
Mabey 2 or 3 nights though if you want to see some stuff.
Have a good trip!
