Auckland is very rarely above 30deg centigrade. It is quite humid though. In winter it is quite mild - rarely lower than 7deg centigrade overnight and about 15deg max during the day. There are very few bug and spider problems although the Huntsman has made its way here from Australia but is so-far only in the Avondale - Mt Roskill areas (it's ugly but not dangerous). Red-backs have also been imported in Austalian cars etc. and they are dangerous but I don't know anyone who has seen any. The white-tail is dangerous and fairly common but again, I don't know anyone who has met one. We do have Wetas which are ugly and bite - if you muck around in the bush areas you could come across a few. And that's about it. Probably the most bug and spider free country in the world I'd say. |

NZ is in the southern hemisphere, so when its our winter, its their summer and vice versa. It can get quite hot in the summer, but the winter is pretty much exactly the same as the UK. It rains A LOT.
Auckland is a city so you don't get bugs or spiders walking the sidewalk. Like anywhere though, if you venture off the beaten track I'm sure there are, just like anywhere else. |

auckland is not hot and has an ocean breeze over the city there are bugs and spider but the spiders are only little spider compared to countries like australia the most dangerous spider i the whitetail these are very fast spiders and they dont even have a whiteback! but you hardly ever come upon them |

Since Auckand is an ocean harbor, it is never very hot there. The weather is very nice, never really cold, nor hot!!!
You do not find a lot of nasty bugs in any of New Zealand. In fact, all of NZ has no poisoness spiders, snakes, etc. It is very safe to walk (locals call it trek) along the beaches, in the mountains, etc. and do not have to worry about being bitten. The one problem you may have is that there are a lot of mosquitos (locals call them mozzies) in the summer months. The city of Auckland will not have many problems, but you should be prepared if going into the countryside!
If you go have fun, it is a very BEAUTIFUL area to visit! M |
