Is it safe to walk on the streets of Auckland CBD at Night?

Around 8pm to 2am. What do you think? Is it safe? Or should it be avoided?

Its never 100% safe to walk home at night in the CBD in any city. But as long as there are street lights, traffic & other people around I'd say you should be Ok. Just be alert to your surroundings at all times and don't be afraid to call for help should something not feel right.

If you stick to the busy main streets you should be fine but like any cities late at night you need to watch out, lots of weirdo's around.

I go into the city all the time late at night and it's quite safe. there are a lot of drunks about but there is a lot of police patrolling so youll be fine. just try not to walk through parks or dark alleys etc.

I am a single female living in Auckland & work around after dark all the time in the CBD, I park my car up back streets & have to walk there on my own after midnight. Just stick to the main streets & NEVER walk through parks at night (especially Albert Park - there have been alot of rapes in there & creepy homeless people live in there spaced out on drugs).

It's no different to alot of other big cities & certainly feels safer than somewhere like London or Sydney. Remember we rarely have bag snatching or mugging in NZ, whereas it's very common in other countries.

The busy parts are ok, its just the dark alleys you want to stay out of,
