You could say that. I have settled here at long last after trying all the others usually associated with the best, and try as I may, I can not think of a better place than NZ.
It's as pleasant and mellow as Canada, but the winters are mild and green.
It's as environmentally ambitious and socially conscious as Sweden, but it has lower taxes and the winters are short and have lots of sun.
It's as much fun as the US, but doesn't have the same severity in terms of gun stuff, crime, and tensions.
It's a lot like Australia, but much greener and compact, with lots of landscape diversity in easy reach even for an afternoon drive, and there are no snakes here, and it's not as hot.
It's also a lot like Scotland or Wales, but the living is more spacious, and there is far less crime.

On the whole, I'd say it's a lot like what you'd have if France belonged to England - a funny thing to consider, I know, but that's really what it's like. NZ is as much into food and wine and relaxation and literature and education and social stuff as France is, and its cities and suburbs are a lot like those in France. But the background and values and work culture, etc. are quintessentially British, as are the vibes of the architecture.

I recommend NZ - it is a very good place to live.

Yes it is. For all our problems we have in NZ, it doesn't seem that bad when you see what's going on overseas. There is a saying here in NZ "We don't know how lucky we are"

New Zealand is a beautiful country with a mild climate.
I am in the process of writing a website about life in Auckland, you are welcome to look.
I have plans to build it into a comprehensive guide to living in Auckland but there is already some good info there for you.
Best regards.

ABSOLUTLEY!!! the best place in the world! people are friendly enough and it is really pretty! i feel sorry for anyone who hasn't been here!

go with the Kiwi saying; 'she'll be right!

Yes. However, in saying that, many New Zealanders are leaving permanently for Australia (3000 every MONTH). I am one of them. In my case, I want a bit of adventure, warmer weather (I find New Zealand too cold for my liking), and higher wages. But, New Zealand was a great place to grow up, and will always be my home.
