Is nz 'running out' of kiwis?

When I mean kiwis, I mean European- New Zealanders (Pakehas).

There are so many moving here to Australia (me included!). I know NZ's population is going up but I'm assuming this is because of immigrants.

Do you think nz will run out of kiwis and just have other nationalities running the place? Or will there still be heaps of New Zealanders?

What do you think ?

Thanks in advance :)

Not running out, no.

Maori and Pacific Island families on average have larger family sizes than European New Zealanders or Asians. Which partly accounts for the growth in population. We do also have a lot of immigrants, especially from Asian countries.

I think because of our economy, it's definitely a better economic choice to move overseas. I'm pretty sure that salaries are 30% higher on average in Australia than New Zealand. I've heard of people going overseas just to afford to pay back their student loans, regardless of the interest they have to pay for going overseas it's still a better option. A lot of people who go overseas never return to New Zealand.

I think that the Government really need to seriously look at the Brain Drain (the term used for the educated leaving NZ for other countries to have a better quality of life) needs to be looked at and something actually needs to be done now. I definitely will be getting my degree in New Zealand (as I have a scholarship) and then stay out the contract for my scholarship then move. Most likely to Australia, or Europe (if I can get the right passport). Chances of me coming back will be so slim. I love New Zealand, but it's not really viable to live here. My Mum is moving to Aussie next year too.

NZ will never run out of white guys. Its better with more races mixing in my opinion, but pakeha will alwasy be there

tansixnz
I don't like to be called a European/Pakeha.
As we are neither, New Zealander is fine
Pakeha is a Maori word for a white person, racist!

Yes we are running out of Kiwi's because they have all taken off to Australia and England. In another 10 years this place will be another Asian or Indian country.
