Haha no it's not, you're maths is way off. Look at the y axis (the one that goes up). It's in PERCENTAGE, not in numbers. The only thing that really changes is that the 'other religions' and 'no religions' goes up. As New Zealand gets more people, of course there are going to be a higher percent of different religions, and a different percent of people who don't have a religion.
In 1996 i've calculated that there were about 2,575,100 Christians in NZ. In 2006 there were 2,326,600. When you think about it, that's not such a big change, what with changes in people's thinking and not so much importance laid on religion. So I agree with you a little bit - there's not so many Christians, but that has nothing to do with the education system.
You're probably not going to give this ten points, because it's exactly what you don't want to hear, but I hope that other people will agree with me, and I'm happy to put the work in if it's going to make the person rubbishing my beliefs shut up - i hope it is.
And before you go putting any more questions on yahoo that are offensive to Christians or any other faith, just think this: we're one of the major religions in the world. You go around saying stuff like 'christianity is fairy tales', you're going to offend a lot of people. |
