I'm sure they didn't mention the counterflow though. Many NZers move to Australia with the intention of living there. But when they get there it isn't quite what they'd imagined and a lot of them return home, not quite as many as 100 a day, but a fair few.
John Key came and spoke to our University and after listening to him I was completely convinced that Australia was the place I would be living in the long term. The salaries are on average 30% higher in Australia and the climate is amazing compared to where I've spend most of my winters. I'm sure that John didn't intend to have that impact on his audience, but he made it sound awfully appealing!
I do like NZ better than Aussie, but if you want to have a more comfortable life, you've got to compromise.

Doesn't bother me, they say the kiwis flocking to Australia heightens the IQ's of both countries - there certainly isn't a brain drain going on
I will definitely not be one of them, new zealand is by far the better of the 2 countries, money isn't everything and you can still earn a perfectly decent wage in NZ if your an educated person |
