Kirsty B

Lokking for info on immigreating to new zealand?

Hi hope someone can help me, Im looking for info on working/immagrating to New Zealand.

My partner would be the main applicant, during his working life he firstly worked in the shipbuilding industry and is time served as a plater/shipwright and has an hnc in welding & fabrication.

He then moved on to work with one of the top mobile phone networks in the uk working on the technical helpdesk.

He is now currently working as a line manager within a company who repair mobile phone like nokia, sony, blackberry etc.

Would any of his skills be in demand in New Zealand and what career would he be best to follow the fabrication side of it or the technical side.

Any good feed back would be great.

Thank You

Hiya, if you look on the immigration Newzealand website they normally have a jobs shortage list that they will take people from so if he has worked in fabrication he may get accepted, i think they usually do a ballot or a points based system. On the other hand the two of you could apply for working holiday visas to see if you like it first and if he gets into a job where they are able to "sponsor" him once his original visa runs out he may be able to stay on in New Zealand.

Take a look at the different visas available , im from new zealand myself and my partner and i are currently working on a de facto relationship visa as he is from the U.K

Hope this helps , take a look at the website below thats where we got most of our info from, they also have online assessments

You EMigrate TO ,IMMigrate FROM.
They use mobiles in NZ so he should be OK.However if it`s anything like Australia he`d need to have a guaranteed job before you move there permanently.
