If you think the uk sucks and in many ways your right.....wait till you get a load of those phonies in Kiwiland,......only nice folk there are the Maoris, the rest really suck and other than the few rich whose ancestors stole everything from the Natives, most young NZ's can't wait to get out and go to Australia and the uk.....never to return to that overrated Island.!!!

Otago (/Dunedin) is the main university for medical students. Auckland is supposed to be very difficult to get into and only takes limited numbers but perhaps you have researched all this. So, Auckland is the largest city in NZ and has the mildest climate so it is a great place. My daughter went to Auckland uni - but after being at the Univerity of NSW (Sydney) which she loved, and where she made lots of friends, she did not like it here as much where she didn't make any. But she wasn't doing medicine so that could be quite different

RuMbA tUmBa!!
if you can get into aukland... wellington as a city sucks its only good for filming

i would go to wellington.

You can study medicine at Wellingtons Otago university branch but if you found it hard to get into you might consider the Dunedin campus. It is the best university in terms of having a great student party scene and the university has a good reputation. After London you will find it small but it will a good change for you. Auckland is a bigger city which might appeal to you and it has the biggest international airport if you plan on travelling.

I don't think you can study medicine in Wellington. Wellington's university is Victoria. Otago University is in Dunedin, which is about two thirds of the way down the east coast of the south island.

Dunedin's climate is not that great, but it is a really cool, vibey little city. Auckland has lots of great things going for it, but living costs are more expensive.

My honest advice would be for you to contact the universities directly (www.otago.ac.nz or www.auckland.ac.nz) and see what advice they can offer.

If I had to choose between living in Dunedin or living in Auckland... well, I'd probably choose Auckland simply because of the climate - but I know an awful lot of South Islanders would disagree with me!
