Depending where you want to live, your rent will be anywhere from $100 a week upwards. The further out of the city centre you go (south or west), the less you'll pay, but the North Shore and east Auckland are more expensive. Check the flatmate ads on trademe.co.nz (it's like ebay). Food can cost as little as $50 a week if you're good with a budget. Pak n Save is usually the cheapest supermarket, but the others do good deals each week.
What you earn will depend on what job you can do. As a waiter, you'll get about $13 an hour, in an office you can get $18 an hour. It's not that easy to get a job here. I recommend signing up with a recruitment agency - it doesn't cost you anything, and they can find temporary or permanent work. Martin Personnel in Ellerslie is good, or try Alpha, Cover Staff, Drake or Allied Work Force (all listed in yellow.co.nz).
But it's a good place to live - laid back, friendly people, plenty to do at the weekend, and not too crowded if you get out of the city. Hope this helps and you enjoy it! |

There is a shortage of jobs in New Zealand right now and many people are applying for the same job. Most jobs require New Zealand citizens to apply. You could look at where there are shortages in specialised ares and gain qualifications for those areas before going to New Zealand and I agree, it would also help before you considered New Zealand to improve on your written english. |

(I hope your spoken English is better than your writing as people wouldn't understand you very well)
You may like to take night classes to learn NZ English, which is quite different from what you have been taught. |
