New Zealand Travel advice please?

I am going to be in Auckland for four days at the beginning of April and was hoping I could get some advice on where to stay (cheap) and what to do (SO much but with limited time and funds, I need a litttle direction!) The country looks so amazing, and I would like to ge in some of that incredible scenery if possible, but not knowing a lot about the country beyond their rugby team I hope some other intrepid travellers, or friendly kiwis can point me in the right direction.

Hey....im a permanent Aucklander who constantly has family from outside Auckland come visit. When they are here they stay in a place called Hotel Formulae 1. Its reasonably priced, the rooms are a little small but they are nice, clean and very well maintained, some even come with a balcony so you get to see a bit of town. It is extremely centrally located, right smack in the heart of Auckland City with the harbour on one side of you that provides ferry services to the North Shore and to the outer island like Rangitoto and Waiheke which are definitely always worth seeing. Close to the Viaduct which is about a 5min walk there is the bus station and train station which always has transport to take you where ever you may like to go in Auckland. Bus tours are also available which show you around Auckland City Business District and surrounding areas. Try checking out www.greatsights.co.nz for attractions and stuff and www.hotelformule1.com for the hotel. Other wise give us a hollar we always willing to show off our beautiful city.

Check out the Aspen House Bed and Breakfast Hotel in Auckland, New Zealand for a good affordable funky place to stay. We liked it.

For sure when you come in at the airport they have a board wit a whole bunch of hostels/hotels on it. I just stayed in Auckland and partied. So I cant really help you wit the scenery stuff.
