New Zealand country departing fee?
I'm leaving New Zealand tomorrow. I see there's a $25 fee you have to pay to leave the country. Where at the airport to I pay this fee? Is it when you check in your luggage? Do they want $25 in New Zealand money or can I pay with a credit card? I want to plan to make sure I don't have alot of New Zealand money left over. Thank you.
You pay at the Travelex terminal (currency exchange kiosk with red and blue stripes) if you are leaving via Auckland International - you are able to pay with credit card but I strongly suggest using cash. If leaving via Palmerston North - pay at the kiosk. You attach the ticket to your boarding pass however the guys at the Travelex will inform you of where to place them.

There are several Travelex places to pay the $25 exit fee. within the airport. This is about to change next month and they are including a fee in the fare, so depending on when you come you may not need to pay this .The check in people will tell you. You pay after you have checked in and they will put a sticker on your ticket to show you have paid - if you still need to.

You can pay it at a couple of places. You'll get a sticker and if my recollection is right, you affix it to your ticket jacket.
Have you purchased your ticket already? If not, you can actually pay your departure tax at the travel agent from which you purchased your ticket.
Or you pay for it at the airport. At the Auckland Airport you can go the Bank of New Zealand that is by the departure gates, upstairs. You can pay with cash or credit. They don't worry about the form of payment, just as long as you have the sticker when they check it.
Have a safe flight and I hope you enjoyed NZ!!
