New zealand in july? |
I'm thinking about taking a trip/tour of new zealand in july and I would like to know some of the must sees(mainly culture and nature wise) during this time or anytime of year and how I should go see them. I have heard things about tours with Magic Bus and Kiwi experience and I was wondering if they are worth traveling on. Additional Details Oh and I do know its going to be winter there. I am going to be in Australia for about 3 weeks and I wanted to visit New Zealand for a while before I head back to the states. |

You didnt say where you are from but fair to let you know that its the winter here and it is freezing cold esp in the South Island. Kiwi Experience is ok to travel with. Unless you are aiming for the mountains and some snow, would recommend that you travel in the warmer months Dec to April. |

u know its gonna be cold eh... id go with the mountains for nature, in the north island mt tongariro has a really great walk called the tongoriro crossing. its a wee bit difficult and ud have 2 dress warm but well worth it. down south obviously the glaciers (franz josef) are must sees. make sure u check out rotorua for culture and nature, as well as taupo, there are really cool thermal hot pools and stuff. i havent heard of magic bus but kiwi experiance is supposed 2 b quite good, but 2 be honest, nz is a pretty easy place 2 find ur way around. good luck! |

Shame, you,ve really chosen the worst time of the year to visit New Zealand. It's usually very cold and wet around July. The South Island is even colder than the North. Good luck. |

I would recommend Milford Sound, Abel Tasman National Park, Bay of Islands, The Coromandel Peninsula, Rotorua, Franz Josef Glacier, and the Mt Manganui area, in that order.
I never did the bus thing, I rented a car with one other person. If you are traveling with someone I would recommend renting a car. If your alone, it may be more economical to do the bus tour. |

Depends if you are going to the North or South Island...The south is very beautiful you should go to Milford and Doubtful Sound, Franz Joseph Glacier, There should be snow so you could go skiing at Cadrona and check out the town of Wanaka a lot of travellers stay there a bus goes up to the mountain one in the morning and brings you back in the afternoon...

try the naked bus company - sometimes they have ticket prices as low as NZ$1. and you HAVE to come to Wellington it's the coolest city ever but not too touristy. be prepared to rug up tho - its won't neccassarily be cold, but the wind will be bitter. |

Kiwi experience is great if you're travelling on your own, I did it and it was the best experiences ever.
Whatever you do, make sure you see the South Island because it is beautiful.
If you have time - go to Great Barrier Island (just north of Auckland) it is one of the most untouched places in NZ. You can go on backpacker deals with SeaLink www.sealink.co.nz
Have a great time! |
