New Zealand has quite a lot of official clothes optional beaches. Several near Auckland, an excellent one at Papamoa, and lots more. The Free Beach Group publish a book of them. Go to www.gonatural.co.nz/nznf_locations.html and select Free Beach Group. In fact New Zealand has no specific law against nudity, you have to DO something indecent to be arrested.
That's why I love being a nudist kiwi girl

Yes there is a place called Mapua which is at the top of the south island near Nelson. Actually its considered a "clothes optional beach" as opposed to a nudist beach, same thing i guess.

As well as the ones mentioned, there is Pecker Pecker (no, just kidding), it's proper name is Peka Peka Beach, 40 minutes north of Wellington. |

Naturist Jo - You are correct about legislation in New Zealand regarding 'nudity'.
Unless a complaint is made about you to the appropiate authorities and is a complaint which clearly and specifically states that your nudity or lack of discretion (whatever that is!) is offensive, then you can parade around in your birthday suit until the cows come home!
Best you check with each District Council on there particular by laws or protocols first! |
