2 things that I liked:

1. People are very friendly and helpful.
2. Beautiful scenery, very clean country.

Things that I hated:

1. The long, cold & wet winters
2. The housing conditions - all close together, wooden and rather shabby on the whole.
3. The never-ending mould accumulation in the houses during winter.
4. The fact that most people cannot afford to buy their own homes and are continuously moving about.
5. The limited variety of foodstuffs (most foodstuff is imported).
6. The fact that almost everything in the clothing shops come from China!
7. Auckland is chaotic and too many cars on the highway.
8. Crime is on the increase and the drug 'P' is now out of hand on the streets.
9. Too many baby-bashings and extreme family violence.
10. Gangs are not being stamped out.
11. It's too far off from the rest of the world.
12. Day to day living is pretty damn hard for the average person and many people work at two jobs, just to survive.

Sorry, for me, there was more to dislike, than to like. Personally, Australia is a slightly better choice.

Like:
1) Fresh produce and meat!
2) Easy access to outdoor activities.

Dislike:
1) The increasingly boring and bland mainstream culture.
2) People who moan and make an unproportional stink about trivial issues. I suppose it's to be expected in an isolated semi-backwater, but I still don't like it. And I can lump into this people who are very politically biased to the point they can't shut up moaning about the party they don't like. Like just not being able to resist moaning abiut a former PM they didn't like (and who I would like to state I wasn't fond of either) going on to greater things.

Scenery is practically unbeatable
Lifestyle is relaxed

Dislikes:
less consumer choice in many areas due to small population
High costs of things there

****Due 09 Oct with #1!!****
its alot safer than other countries
not congested with too much traffic bar auckland

maoris that cant seem to behave and act like they are try hard american gangsters
expensive to get across the world

Like:

- The scenery
- The people
- Ice cream!
- Food!

Do not like:
- The traffic here in Auckland!!
- The weather, it rains a lot.
- Sometimes it's a little too quite.

By the way, crime is not on the increase here. It may be up from 50 years ago by a lot, but in the past 10 years it has actually dropped something like 18%! That will give you food for thought. But yes, I do agree with the maori gangster comment hehe.

Edit: We do have a lot of child abuse I do admit.

2 things I like:
- The air. Whenever I go overseas it's always so smoggy, and then when I come home it's so fresh and beautiful.
- THE PEOPLE! I love kiwi accents. Everyone is so laidback and we all get along real good!

2 things I dislike:
- We're always last on band tours, etc.
- It costs a lot of money to send stuff overseas from NZ.

things i love:
Beauty...just gorgeous scenery and people everywhere.
Fabulous food, fresh produce and seafood.
Nice diverse cultures, european, asian, pacific islanders and of course the fabulous maori culture, all comes together to make a really interesting, colourful eclectic, unique style that we have all of our own.
Kiwis have a cute accent.
Mild climate, awesome skiing, trekking, beaching, any outdoorsy thing you want to do its right there. You never have to go far.
The relative lack of "real' rasism. (of course we have our issues but compared to anywhere else its pretty mild really).
Mild climate (Up north that is).
No creepy crawlies or animals that can kill you.
If you want the city its there..if you want big open spaces its right there. you never have to go far for what you want.
All the cities are unique and have something great to offer.
If you want to have fun you will. if you want to be a sad sack and winge about everything you dont like you can just bugger off. One way tickets are cheaper! xx
