I highly doubt there will be snow as the middle of January is the middle of our Summer. Our Summer goes from December - February. If you wanted to see snow I would come here near the end of Winter which ranges from June - August.

Depending on where you go our temperatures will range between 15-35 degrees celcius probably.

The chances of snow that you can actually enjoy are limited as it is mid summer. There may be some still left on the highest peaks.I have been in Queenstown for Christmas Day when it snowed on the top of the Remarkables.

It will depend where in New Zealand you are. Our temperatures are variable. In the South Island which from Christchurch south is a more European climate it could be hot, especially inland.Late 20's early 30 degrees celsius. The North Island is more humid, and while mostly only in the mid 20 degrees can seem hotter.

You will need to bring a warm jumper for evenings and maybe cooler days.Rain jacket - we get quite a lot of rain, but also summer clothes. Layers are the best idea.

Have a look at http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com/new-zealand-weather.html to get an idea for the parts of New Zealand you will be visiting.

It will be the middle of summer. We are having a late snow season in my area at the moment (mount Ruapehu). But by January it will be hot. Late 20s early 30 degree celsius on hot sunny days. It dosnt often get over about 32 degrees. On cloudy cooler days expect it to be around 15 degrees at that time of the year. Pack your togs and head to the beach instead. Have a good trip
