The quickest way for a British person to gain an Australian Passport? (or the right to live & work there)?

I want to get an Australian passport so i can live and work in Australia because I really love the country & lifestyle..

However when I was younger I used my 1 year working visa but carried on travelling afterwards so that option is closed (I'm now 27 years old & don't have a 'specific' career /skill)

Someone recently told me that it is easier to go to New Zealand because they offer an immediate 23month work visa, and then you can get sponsorship for further years. Then after 3-5 years you can obtain a NZ passport and move freely to Australia.

....Is this true?

Im only asking because i have a friend in New Zealand who says he could get me a job working for a very well established company, thus being able to gain sponsorship beyond the normal 23month visa..

Due to Australia being a colony of the United Kingdom, you do not need a passport. This country is ruled by Great Britain. You can come and live here easily.
