Time and distance from Christchurch to Pic ton by car?
I drive from Blenheim to Chrsitchuch a lot and it differs in time from a spritley 3 1/2 hours (no stops) to probably an average of 4 hours (with more traffic and a short stop)....its another 30mins to Picton from Blenheim.
so it depends on how fast you drive (I like around 100-110km per hour), how confident you are on windy corners (as there are some in a couple of parts and how many times you stop.
Kaikoura is worth a bit of a look see if you want a stop...its about 2 1/2 hours from Christchurch.
