Waiheke or Auckland..choices choices!!?

I am off to New Zealand and depending on whether i like the job i have been offered i will stay..
I have been twice to NZ and really like Waiheke Island..
However the ferry chareg to get to auckland is expensive and would cut a large hole in my expected income.
So Auckland and have more money or Waiheke great beaches/scenary but skint..

oh choices choices.....

Live in Auckland go to waiheke on the weekend, buy a tent and you could camp!
I loved it there too, great wine!
