christchurch is roasting 30degree most days , summer really arrived now , auckland has 4season in on day , but warm ,, wellinton , windy. dunedin fine they main city , after all it summer, bring summmer clothes and jacket

Its hot and humid at the moment. Averaging 20 - 25 degrees celcius. We have had a few showers but with a big high pressure about to hit it should be hot and sunny over the next week.

You won't need your winter woolies but a light rain jacket might be useful. Have a great time :-)

I am in Auckland right now and it is very hot and sunny. Though rainning in other parts of the country. Its summer so bring your bikini also an umbrella! haha.

Maori Gurl From NZ
Today we got to 27deg C and tomorrow we are expecting 32deg C.
People from over sea find our humidity very fresh.
But sorry to say that we can have four seasons in one day. So you will need your shorts or skirt and your rain jacket.

It should be very warm in January. We are having anything from 18 - 30+ degrees celcius depending on the day and place. Some places are very hot one day and quite a bit cooler the next. Yes, many places are also having a lot of rain- at the moment especially the southern South Island.Come prepared for rain! For further information on New Zealand weather go to http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com/new-zealand-weather.html There has been snow quite low down in the South Island. That clothing would usually be good for daytime, but you may need something warmer for evenings and if it is windy.Jeans and wind proof/waterproof jacket, and a warm jumper or sweat shirt would be sufficient.

Also good footwear for walking and warm socks, as well as sandals.

syd
Most places will be warm usually 20 - 25 degrees C. Apart from Wellington, which will be wet and windy and is so jaw droppingly awful, isn't worth visiting anyway!

In general, you've picked a great time to come over!

It's usually pretty nice in Auckland at this time of the year. It rains a lot usually during the autumn-winter season but you should be fine if you are going there for 9 days. Bring a warm jacket just in case cos the weather in NZ is unpredictable sometimes. It's colder by the beach but if you are in the suburbs or city than a jacket or 2 would be suitable.

Hope this helped!

By the looks of it i suggest a raincoat and umbrella. The rest quite coolish clothing like ur summer stuff, coz it won't get to cold,1-2 warm top and long pants. It's summer so it won't be "really" cold. So i reckon that outfit with 3 quarters and that shirt would be fine.

In Auckland at that time the temperatures will usually be between about 13º to 26º.
But be warned, extremes can happen at any time of the year.
The winds should be light and pleasant. But again, things can change abruptly.
At this time of the year very few Aucklanders will bother with a coat or jacket, but if the weather looks dicey, they will take an umbrella with them.

Brandon T
We have great weather in New Zealand. I wouldnt worry so much.

But like always you should be prepared.
