I lived in Auckland for about 8 months and really enjoyed going to Mission Bay for the Beach. They have the absolute best museum!!! The whole first floor is all about South Pacific cultures. I would try to get out of the city though, the country side is beautiful....beyond words!

Kelly Tantons Underwaterworld, Dolfin Safaries, Sky Tower, Museum, Parnell & Ponsonby ....

Culture: Concerts, Galleries, Musicals, Ballet, Operas

People: A mixture of Europeans, Maori, Pacific Islanders, Asians, South Africans, South Americans and Rest of World.

Geological: 48 volcanoes of different age and shape, earthquakes (rarely)

Nature: Plenty of parks, Waitakere Ranges in the West.

Sports: All kinds of sports can be done, including Indoor Skiing & Snowboarding, Surfing, Rugby, ...

Beaches: Plenty of Beaches, West coast to the Pacific, East coast to the Tasman Sea

And of course: ME! :o)
