What advice would you give a person thinking of moving to Auckland, New Zealand?

I am trying to get a Radio job working at a hip-hop station and need some advice on what are the women are like over in auckland. What are the beaches like as well.

Oh, my pretty much all of the people answering have never been to Auckland . Auckland is pretty tame. Its certainly safe to walk home in the night, maybe not south auckland but the rest is fine. Piha is an awesome beach, but if you want the best, go to Mt Maunganui (Tauranga). The women are awesome, theyre so friendly and I love going there. There are heaps of radio stations but I dont know much about that.

Hope I could help.

Move to Wellington instead =]

What the heck? why is everyone making up crap, it's all good to walk home at night in Auckland just not in south Auckland but just don't make eye contact, why do you want to get into the hip hop industry over here anyway? theres like no potential for that here in NZ especially in Auckland, the women in Auckland I would say are about a 60% Great and 40% YUCK! Piha is the best beach!

Hi Leo, first up, the hip hop scene in all of NZ is limited. Why do you want to come here for that? The beaches round Auckland are either polluted or too busy to enjoy, but there are some nicer, cleaner and quieter ones within one to two hours drive fromm the city. And as for the women, well in Auckland they can be very materialistic and pretty phony but outside of the cities they generally are more "real" and down to earth.

Kia Ora! haha people are being pretty harsh to us kiwi women! :P I used to live in Auckland, and its a really great place to live! I must admit if you want to work in radio you would probably be better in either wellington (where I am now), christchurch or Tauranga. They seem to have more concentrated areas of hip-hop. Beaches are amazing in Mt Maunganui (Tauranga), and they also have a great hip hop scene. Great vibe there, with friendly and laid back people. I've been there a number of times and would love to move up there myself!
The only advice I have is to enjoy all that NZ has to offer. Travel around and see the sites, especially down south in places like Queenstown.

if you mess with an auckland chick and play her...expect the whole family/relatives/extended family/family friends/nextdoor neighbour/family dog attack your a**!!!

People ARE making stuff up here - it's fine to walk home at night in Auckland in the city, or city fringe areas like Ponsonby - I do it all the time and I'm a short blonde girl! South Auckland however... maybe not the best idea.

Where are you living now? That would be helpful in giving you advice especially on the women. There are all sorts from pretentious snobby bitches to dirty STD-infested slappers to scary chicks who beat up anybody that looks in their direction to girls that can outdrink the boys and obliterate them in pool to beat. Hmm... yes, a fine selection of ladies here :P (I fit none of the above categories... there are also lots of normal girls too! I think...? :P)

ummmm top of the north island down to taupo (center of NZ's north island, also Nz's biggest lake) is not a safe place to be. but anywhere down south is very safe. the women in auckland like to sleep around i guess and yeah if u screw them around expect a knife in ur sternum.ummm beeches have very good scenery up north and down south there deserted cause its far too cold lol

Gotcha
Buy a Car unless u live work in Central Auck it is essential.

Most people who love NZ havent been overseas

geez what did auckland to do most of u?? it's pretty safe compared to many other cities, u have just about everything u need and the ppl are not as bad as u think. of course there are some pretentious, fake ppl, but dont all cities have them?

(auckland) women in general are not slutty... i mean if u hang around clubs and k'rd too much then of course there is a higher percentage of slutty girls. that is no different from other places. i think nz ppl in general are trusting and friendly.

piha's fantastic, even beaches on the north shore are alright.

Dont walk home alone at nite in Auckland as the crime is so bad there you will end up getting the **** kicked out of you for no reason

Go Obama!
Most of the women are either sheep or chain-smokers.
