I'm looking for an internship in New Zealand (possibly Australia) after I graduate with my degree in Recreation and Tourism from my university in May 2010.
I am looking at jobs in New Zealand, and I don't know what is an average salary? How much is it to rent a house? And what is the general cost of living.
I need to find a job in the horrowhenua. im 19 and have experience in pub work, video store and pizza shop. im from australia living in nz for a year. are there any places that pay good? i have been told 12 dollars an hour is normal for someone my age for retail jobs.. which is LAME!
yea well i hate to say it but here in australia, we dont pay that well either, so dont go to NZ thinking its going to pay any better, cos it wont. But on the off chance you may just land a job that does pay well, You are best to be checking out the cafes, restaurants and wineries for the kind of experience you have had. New zealanders are big on fine dining and etiquettes. Try out Auckland for its tonnes of cafes, wellington for its tonnes of dining spots and probably hawkes bay for restaurant vineyards, or even the tourist mountain resorts like queenstown or taupo, its a beautiful country, so have fun!!
