Wellington doesn't really have any...

To be honest, people don't usually travel to NZ to see amusement parks... that's what places like USA and Australia are for... you go to New Zealand for the fabulous scenery and the people.

Wellington has a really great culture, and lots to do that doesn't involve amusement parks...

As has been mentioned no amusement parks as such.

Some alternative suggestions:

Wellington Zoo
Te Papa (allow at least half a day to do it justice and plenty for the kids to do.)
Capital E
A cable car ride is also a must, not many kids' activities at the top apart from a playground but the cable car museum is interesting.
For older kids maybe the Museum of City and Sea
