Lovely place, spent 5 months over there.

Upsides, weather is hot in summer, and clement in winter, so east to deal with. People are lovely and cost of living is relatively low. Also the big towns and cities can still feel more personal than in other countries, giving each town a real identity.

Downsides, it's a long way away from anywhere, and wages are fairly low, dollar for dollar.

For me it's a great place, and if you can get the visa, go for it!!!

The weather is similar to ours depending on where you live.It is
not much cheaper except for property. The main benefit. You won't be interested in their lying politicians and won't be seeing
or reading about the coward dictator Gordon Brown and he's sleeze party.

I have had 3 lots of friend over the last 5 years go to New Zealand and they love it. The weather is ok but they do have very cold winters. 2 of them have built there own house with a lot of land and the other couple are renting as they are not sure where to settle. In each of the cases they went out for 3- 6 months before deciding but they all say it was the best decision they have made. School's are a lot better also.

Pros: beautiful country, much of it still pristine and unspoilt, friendly people, as an island, the weather can be changeable, but good days are brilliant.

Cons: Earthquake zone, lots of tourists, a bit out of the way.

If I was younger I would not hesitate, its like England was a few years ago not overcrowded, not full of foreigners, not full of lying politicians, not full of mosques. A lovely place, a little old fashioned but there's is nothing wrong with that. Lets all go and leave England to the dogs.
