What are the animals used for meat treated like in New Zealand?

Are they tortured and slaughtered inhumanly? I don't eat kfc. but the mcdonalds in New Zealand uses meat from New Zealand. but what are the animals treated like? is it like in Some farms in America where they are tortured? and have limbs cut off while they are still fully conscious?

maybe you should do some research about this. there's not really any reason to torture them, if that means a punch up an some knives or whips or that sort of thing. animals these days tend to live on farms, with open spaces and food available. at an abatoir, if they were to give poisons or anything chemical, they'd have to do a mighty cleanup to remove the poison from the meat.
i've never actually been in an abatoir, but i know that one method of killing animals is that they put this thing that looks like earmuffs over the animals temples, and it pretty much just shocks them out of consciousness. then they hang them by their leg and slit their throat, so it's quick, clean, and they don't feel it.

hope that helps

We have pretty strict rules about how animals are treated in NZ, even ones for eating. Most animals live happy lifes on the farm until there time is up.

Have you ever been inside a modern abattoir?

There are laws that ensure animals are treated as humanely as possible. I find it hard to believe any country like America would allow animals to be tortured. Certainly not in New Zealand
