Is it the greatest country on earth to you? - I know everyone says that about there own country.

is it the freedom? the peaceful nature of the place? the smallness and community feel of a small country?the awesome landscapes, the sheep, the people, the easy goingness, tama iti, toni marsh, boobs on bikes? national nude day? the mountains, the ocean?

what is NZ to you?
Additional Details
no snakes or deadly animals, cealn, green et cetera, no nukes, wellywood, lord of the rings, peter jackson et cetera,

When ur young u take this country for granted & its not till you travel overseas & come back that u realise just how much u love it.
For me I found out just how much i missed all the lil things that make NZ so special - lol like how ppl do talk & make eye contact on public transport (unlike in London) , how when u walk into most shops ppl ask u how ur days going & how walking down the st chances are ul see someone u know or whos ur friends/family etc.
Lots of things really - fish n chips on the beach in summer, BBQs, Wellington sevens, the landscapes (from icy glaciers in the south to volcanoes in the north).
Its just everything really. As someone else said - its where i was born, its where i grew up, its my home.

Chaz
You.

I think the poster on the wall of Murray's office in "Flight of the Conchords" says it best:

"New Zealand. Why not?"

There are no animals that can realistically kill you (except for the occasional shark)! I love that it's so safe here. I love our accents. I love how the people are so friendly and you can't go far without bumping into someone you know. I love how everyone is so open-minded and there's so little persecution (especially over things other countries are crazy about). I love how we invent crazy things. I love that it's so diverse here in people and in scenery. We are the ultimate example of the closest thing to a democracy on earth. I like how as a nation, we stand up in what we believe in, we still remain nuclear free, G.I free and refuse to give in to the stronger and bigger bullies. I love that we're 'green'. I love jandals. I love how kiwi's are so laid back- we have such an awesome philosophy and lifestyle. I like how our smallness doesn't affect how great we can be- in sports, in literature, in many, many fields.
I haven't been to every country in the world, but I have been to many, and New Zealand is definitley one of the greatest nations on earth.

New Zealand i think is the pinnacle of free society and the western world, we have wonderfully happy and open minded people and the most stunning landscape history and culture ever. We don't offend or insult and where totally nuclear free. I don't know how America can lead the free world when they set no example as a perfect county.

New Zealand is beautiful and amazing, i am proud to be a kiwi.

The freewill and opportunities. As a immigrant I find N.Z the best country to grow up in.

I love the sense of belonging somewhere where people actually care. I love my small town right next to the beach, and i love the tourists who are so crazy and yet they seem to respect our culture...or at least the ones i've met.

The people, the music & film, outrageously innovative inventions & ideas come from NZ.
