What do you love about Auckland?

Heaps of people I know in nz hate Auckland but it must be OK if it rated the 5th best in the world! http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,23846893-5006301,00.html

So Aucklanders, tell me what's good about your city.

What are some bad things?

Thanks in advance,

i live in sydney now, lived in auckland for 2 years, traffic is pretty bad in auckland even on sydney terms. There's not a great public transport system and the suburbs are quite widespread so if you dont drive it can be a bit of a hassle getting around. Other than that its a great city very multi cultural great waterways all around. But its really different from the rest of NZ, most kiwis are laid back and dont like to rush and auckland being the major city, the pace of life up there can be a bit much for the average kiwi to understand or enjoy ;)

I just moved here from South Africa Johannesburg, one of the most dangerous cities in the world. So it is a lot safer here than back home. And tons of water!

I hate the traffic because we had it just as bad, even with 3 lane highways.

But I love the beauty, and the greeness and the water, so fresh.

i'm from brisbane and been over to New Zealand when I was younger and mt fave places were the Auckland zoo where i saw i real giraffe ; couple of elephants one needed to have his toe nail removed!! a zebra and a poler bear playing with his blue bucket! ~~ heaps of cool stuff
and the other place would be the beach that you dig at in the sand to get hot water !! i think its hummer springs!? i love the beach , this one you can go in winter and summer!!
