What is the best city in Queensland Australia to live in?

I'm from Canada and I was looking to move somewhere in Queensland. I would like to live in a city that is close to a beach and with good shopping. Also somewhere where the climate isn't too humid. I have heard of Townsville does it meet any of this criteria?
Thanks :)

Queensland is in Australia.
Your question has shown up on New Zealand pages.
Why not re-ask it on an Australian page.
It's like asking a Canadian if Costa Rica is a good place to live

I honestly think that Brisbane is a better choice. If you are looking for a place that isn't too humid Brisbane is the way to go!!! It is also a beach town

Learn what country you're looking to move to. That's always a great start.

Queensland is very humid. If you want a city without much humidity move elsewhere.

PARADISE_WATERS
The cities are tiny in Queensland compared with most US or Canadian cities and job opportunities are not that great compare wit Melbourne or Sydney.

Why don't you take a holiday out there for 2 weeks and spend a few days in each city.

Brisbane is nearly an hours drive or bus journey to the nearest beach either heading north or south.

Do NOT move to townsville...
move somewhere closer to Brisbane like the Sunshine Coast
it's lovely in places like Noosa or Maroochydore
big change from Canada to Australia!
