What is the best place to live in Auckland, New Zealand for a young person?
I'm going for a working gap year in Auckland I'll be working their for a few months then I'll plan to explore New Zealand, so i want to know the best place to rent an apartment in Auckland, needs to be near clubs, cinemas, supermarket and other young stuff so where is the best place?
Try getting an apartment in Auckland Central, there are heaps around if you check out the property part of Trademe.co.nz you can browse hundreds, if not in the city stick to the city fringe suburbs such as Mt Eden & Ponsonby where its just a 10 minute bus ride to the city. I live in Mt Eden and its easy to get everywhere either driving or busing!!!

i agree that mt.eden would be a good place to look at-its a short distance from both the city (clubs, movies etc), newmarket (shops etc) and mt.eden itself has many cafes, restaurants and bars on its main road. also, there are many supermarkets close to mt.eden, including fresh fruit/vege markets and asian markets :) also, the central city would be an option :)
