It's not too crowded compared to many places. Its really pretty. I love the Catlins, they're awesome!! It has good waether where I live and the people are really nice. =)
I like that there can be big cities and then like half an hour away there can just be nothing much at all. |

I just love my home country. As soon as i get a glimpse of Auckland, as we fly in from LA...my heart just flips with joy :)
The food is the best, i can't seem to down enough pies when im home!.
It's a very laid back country & the people are great!!.

Our public healthcare system is excellent. This country is about as big as Britain or Japan but only about 4.2 million people. No poisonous animals in the garden, sea or bush. Not much religious or ethnic baggage. A cool climate. We're not worth bothering to attack. I agree with oX-Stace about the Catlins; it's just along the coast from where we live, and one of the most underrated places in the world, especially Curio Bay. |

well I live in Auckland so I like walking around Tamaki Drive (he waterfront areas that does for miles & miles to the city) and love Rangitoto (the dormant volcano in the harbour that you can see from Tamaki Drive). That's what I miss when I go overseas. Also cool creative people from here like Flight Of the Conchords and Peter Jackson and NZ musicians make me feel proud to be a kiwi. |

Lived there for 10 years and my favourite things there is the equality between man and woman ( honestly much higher than other countries I have lived in)
Also the ability to make due with makeshift solutions - not everything gets there on time or is in stock. Gives a really nice flavour |

Well, I've seen a bit of London... been around Europe, lived in France ...been to Aussie .. (although trips to Aussie are so common for us these days that it almost doesn't seem like it counts as an "overseas" trip anymore). Point is, when I get back on New Zealand soil, I love how laid back the feel and pace of life is here. I know it might sound cheesie, but I feel that "laid-back-ness" as soon as I get off the plane and into the airport, and I love it!
Yes, I loved my overseas experiences and wouldn't take them back for the world (I admit it took a while for me to adjust to the "slow" pace of life again once I was away for an extended period, then first arrived back) but once I was settled, I started to wonder why people ever leave.
No country's perfect and we have our problems, but those issues really do pale in comparison when compared with everything else that's happening in other parts of the world.
We don't know how lucky we are sometimes! |
