Broadway Park. Beautiful! Very close to the city. Close to Mission Bay, very safe, parks, nice houses, shops. It's got it all.

I have lived in Manuwera also before I moved here. Manuwera is typically not too flash but we lived in Wattle Downs which was lovely.

Beach Haven. Mixed. There's the awful state house area & then there's the million plus homes on the cliffs in Coastal Beach Haven & then there's middle of the road middle class Beach Haven where I live. This used to be a holiday hotspot way back when, before Auckland was populated very much so you can still get the occasional 2 bedroom bach or cottage around the place which is nice (expensive to buy due to the nostalgia factor). Also famous NZ jazz musician (lives in London now but comes back here every summer to do gigs - has one at Auckland Zoo with Hollie Smith tomorrow night) Nathan Haines was born & brought up here & I think his Dad still lives round the corner. There are a few nice little beaches around & a great park in the next suburb in Chatswood called Centennial Park - loads of tui's & fantails, kauri tree's, a beach at Kendalls Bay & at low tide if you walk round the rocks on the left hand side of the beach, you get an awesome view of the city skyline. 4 large supermarkets near the area & easy to get to the city via bus due to the buslane on Onewa Rd & offpeak driving to the city is cool too.

Not ideally where I'd like to live in Auckland, but I wanted to own a property & this is all I could afford.
