Hi,
This should answer all your questions.
http://qantas.resultspage.com.au/search?p=Q&ts=custom&w=flight+restrictions

If you have been trying to search it yourself and had no luck, it's because you are spelling Qantas wrong.

Qantas was founded in the Queensland outback in 1920. Registered originally as the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited (QANTAS)

This is from QANTAS.com

The United States Department of Homeland Security has instructed all airlines to apply new security measures for flights into and out of the United States.

Effective immediately, passengers cannot carry liquids, gels and aerosols purchased prior to departure security check, in the aircraft cabin or within carry on baggage. This includes (but is not limited to) the following items:

duty free purchases, obtained prior to security check point inspections.
beverages (including duty free purchases),
shampoos,
suntan lotions,
creams,
toothpastes,
hair gels, hair spray or other items of a similar consistency.

Qantas recommend any such items be placed in checked baggage before progressing to check-in.

Excluded from the measures are baby formula or juice, if a baby or small child is travelling. Prescription medicine is allowed provided the name on the prescription matches the name on the passenger's ticket and is in quantities less than 4oz/120ml per container.

Diabetic passengers, who demonstrate a need, may take liquids and gels to address their medical condition but only in quantities less than 5oz/148ml per container.

Please note: At some airports duty free purchases may be permitted after passengers have passed through the airport security checkpoint. Please refer to Qantas staff upon check-in for the most up to date information.

All passengers will be subjected to a pat down inspection and their accessible property will be inspected at the boarding gate before departure.

Qantas has about the same restricions as most airlines leaving the US, they are not as strice over this side of the world as there in the US however, each country is different with local rules. Make sure you have a visa to enter New Zealand and Australia. Customs are strict of food and plant items coming into these two countries. Food Items covers a lot of things from chewing gum to Pakaged food.declare it and lets Quaritine sort out if you can have it or not. By not declearing itm you are telling then to slap a fine on you. The airlines help customes out a bit here, they give you fresh fruit not long before landing when the last thing you want to do is eat. the cards have been filed out and so you put the fruit into your bag and forget about it until Customs start asking questions about ther fruit you didn't declear. Its a scam so be cearful.
