What to do in Queenstown, NZ??

Spending 4 days in Queenstown in early December. Wondering if it would be worthwhile to rent a car? Also, what do you recommend to do? We're young and always up for some adventure.

it is worth it to rent a car - its not too expensive and taxis are way too much!

Queenstown is the adventure capital of the world. Go to Wanaka which is fun. Also u HAVE to go bungy jumping (i did it and it is AWESOME!!!!)

Shotover jet is fun if u dont mind getting a bit wet.

White water rafting or if ur really wanna get wet go sledging which is like holding onto a board as u go down the river.

If your interested in it, the Maori culture can be interesting.

If ur looking for food, Queenstown has excellent wineries and things like that. U can get some cheap (but nice food) at the local pubs and stuff - it really depends on how big ur budget is.

Be prepared to spend a LOT of money in Queenstown!

Queenstown is so small you won't need a car, and you can walk or catch a cab or a van to any of the tourist/adventure tourist places. You can book a bus tour to Milford Sound, TeAnau, etc.

If you want some adventure that lasts a lot longer than a bungy jump, I'd recommend that you walk the Routeburn Track. You can arrange for a ride to the beginning and a pick-up at the end. To walk the entire track it takes three days and you need to book the huts in advance, no freedom camping allowed.

If you don't want to spend most of your time on the track, there are also some neat day walks from the Routeburn Shelter at Glenorchy. Good luck !

There is quite a bit to do in Queenstown...and it is the adventure captal of NZ....or is it the world!
Try these websites for more help, but you can go jetboating, paragliding, skydiving, bungey jumping etc

You may need a car to go to Wanaka, Arrowtown or Glenorchy.

Queenstown has a great nightlife.
Everybody does a Bungy Jump in Queenstown.
There are plenty of wineries to tour around.

The Cow for dinner is cool.

You will find plenty to do.
Enjoy.
