Jeans and use a piece of rope for a belt, boots, bush shirt (a tartan checked style shirt), straw cowboy hat. |

We don't use the term hillbilly in New Zealand, but you can;t go too far wrong with well worn jeans, a singlet top (preferably black), a flannel/plaid shirt, and gum boots or work boots with steel caps. And yes the girls wear this kind of thing as much as the guys do.
Comfortable and easy to move is the name of the game. If the weather is too warm to wear the jeans when you are in New Zealand then shorts should do as well. |

None of the others have it right so far.
Hillbilly for a chick is a loose blouse (plain colour or a check patterned), a ribbon in your hair, a full skirt, and plenty of petticoats. Also plenty of bright colour.
As for foot wear, go in boots, or simple black shoes.
As well, a smile is a must. |
