Wellington is often more expensive to fly into than to either Auckland ( in particular and has many more airlines that fly there) or Christchurch......But having said that, internal flights to Wellington maybe more expensive...sometimes there are cheap deals.

I am not sure where you are flying in from.....
Main Airlines would be
Air New Zealand
Qantas
Singapore Airlines
I think maybe you will have to search around...sometimes websites have cheaper deals....like expedia.com, but you just have to keep looking to see if there are deals.

Hi,go to Bankstown aerodrome, you can get a charter plane to Wellington from there.
The pilots there hold limited license as they can only carry 2 passages but they are willing to take you because they need flying hours to progress to a higher stage.
The plane will be a single engine 2 stroke with a capacity of 1200cc which is good on fuel consumption, but they are slow, but the good thing is you can see lots of scenery.
I suggest you wear worm cloths as it will be cold and take your lunch and dinner with you to eat along the way, also wear ear mutts as it will be noisy.
Luggage is limited to 4.5klg.
All in all this will be the cheapest and most memorable flight you will ever have.
Hope this helps Waltz.

Check with Air New Zealand's website but there is at least one flight which lands where you land in Auckland (and go through customs there) and you transfer ANZ domestic for the flight to Wellington. The wellington leg is part of the air fare.

Depends on where you are flying out from. Keep an eye on the Air NZ website specials. Some offers there are only available through the web and are very good.

You haven't said where your flying from so check out Air New Zealand to see if the fly to your country.
