I'm a New Zealander from the upper North Island who went to Wellington for four years to study.
Firstly, the wind there can really get you down after a while, it's relentless and hardly a day goes by whereit doesnt crop up. Some days it's bearable, but many others it's just a pain in the ***! If you're a cyclist like I was it's tough also.
The city has good night life, all clubs are in close proximity to each other. The houses are pretty old and you will need to pay a bit extra if you're after a newish apartment or somewhere with a garage (as a great deal of houses don't have them).
It has a nice coastline and can be abgreat place on a nice day, it's just a shame there aren't more of them! Hope this helps.... |

Well,
It's got shops, offices, warehouses, wharves, museums, houses, flats, hotels, hostels, fire stations, streets, libraries, Government departments, a city corporation, a carillon, sports grounds, a university, observatories, gardens, cemeteries, a harbour, hills, beaches, a rubbish tip, a wind turbine (just one), quarries, an airport, a beehive, bars, a railway station, buses, and wind, wind, wind especially if you eat a jar or two of pickled onions.
