one thing i can tell you is that johnsonville (a suburb in Welly) is okay- it's about 25 minutes by train. it's one of the biggest suburbs in wellington, a number of shops and a relatively small mall (by UK standards, at least), so you can't be too bored easily. one downside, though, is that johnsonville train lines don't accommodate late-night party people- last train that leaves from wellington station is before 11pm Mon-Thurs and 1pm Fri. but wellington has some great restaurants and shops that cater to both trendy and alternative (try cuba street) tastes. |
