Where is the best place to visit in New Zealand in winter?

Me and my best friend are going over to new zealand in winter and want to know where the best place to go would be. We dont want to travel around too much as we only have about a week or so there.
Here are some of the activites we want to do:
skiing
sky diving
zorb
swim in the hot springs

If there are any other things that you travellers think are a must please list them and the location.
Thanks :)

All except the skiing can be done in Rotorua (3 hours drive from Auckland) and skiing can then be done on Ruapehu, (2 hours from Rotorua).
While in Rotorua you can raft the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall, mountain biking and luging.

Queenstown or Rotorua.

You can't Zorb or swim in hot springs in Queenstown (as far as I know).

hamner springs because they got the hot pools and they also have a ski field called jacks pass or you can also go to mt hutt but thats not in hamner.

I also suggest Rotorua for the same reasons as the other.
It is close to the ski fields but also has bubbling mud, geysers, hot pools.
Queenstown is great for skiing but no hot pools there.
And if you went to Hamner - there's nothing else but the hot pools.
Don't know about skydiving though....

Rotorua, pretty central to other towns too. Skiing can be done about 2 hours south of there, at Mount Ruapehu....have a great time, wish i could go home for a bit

Hamner Springs

Queenstown!! Its the adventure capital of the world, theres heaps to do there. I duno if theres a zorb there but there is one in Rotorua aswell as hot springs, but as for skiing that can be done in Queenstown.

south island, christchurch

I would say Mount Hutt for skiing and Hanmer Springs for hot-pools, bunjee-jumping etc. Ashburton is an awesome place to.
I'd say that the South Island would be better than the North. Its not so crowded and much more beautiful in the winter.
