Where should I go in New Zealand?

I am currently working in Bulls on the north island, and I have 5 days off coming up. I wondered what I should do on the north island. I already have been to the following places: Auckland, Rotorua, Taupo (briefly), Tongariro national park, and Wanganui river. I'm contemplating goin to the Hawkes Bay maybe, or New Plymouth on the west coast. What else is there to do?

waitomo caves are pretty cool with their glowworms, though only for day . White island (its an active volcanoe) could be good to see too there is a boat that takes people out there for the day. thats on the east coast north island.

What about Wellington? Have you been there?
Perhaps we should assume that with the proximity to Bulls, that you have although you haven't mentioned it.
That would be first choice but if you have been there then I would agree that Mount Maunganui would be a good choice at this time of year, or the Coromandel.

What about the East Coast? Somewhere like Mt Mauganui or Whakatane (whether permitting of course) there's plenty to do there. Or maybe if your into surfing or the sea head up the West Coast to Raglan, it's small, but a good place to chill out relax and take in the scenery.

I lived up in the Waipu Cove area and it is a beautiful and relaxing area only an hour or two north of Auckland. Other places that you have to see is the Bay of Islands and up towards the north. Waitomo Caves were one of our favourite spots on the way through. Have fun. It is a great little country with lots to see.
