Khandalla, Island Bay, Miramar.

I'm moving to Wellington next year. We've got friends in Khandalla and my best friend lives in Miramar.

if you want to live in the capital city itself then karori, kilburnie, mount victoria, island bay...there are many nice places with access to schools and public transport. you could alternatively live just north of wellington and commute which is easy and pleasant along the coast. some popular places for people to bring up families are the villages of paekakariki, pukerua bay, paraparaumu, raumati, plimmerton - also all easily accessible to good schools and also to the city by train.

Hi there. Don't live in Wellington but have friends there. They live in Khandallah, Hataitai and Island Bay. They all seem nice suburbs.

Here are a few realtors that are in Wellington. Worth checking out their sites. Also a good idea is to rent first, until you get a feel for areas.
