Which city is best to live in? Wellington or Auckland? |
I live in Wellington. I am beginning not to like it. The people are mean. It does have it's ups. Free ambulance service, everthing is close, good public transport.
Auckland is larger, was told public city council pools are free, and there's rainbows end, an awesome zoo far better than wellington, but is difficult to get around public transport wise, and likely more expensive than Wellington. But, at least the terrain is flat. I mean Wellington, you have to walk up and down hills constantly and the roads are rather tight. |

if you want flat terrain you can't get any flatter than christchurch! also it has a good public transport system (well buses) no trains like wellington. AND it has two zoos orana wildlife park and willowbank zoo. |

Wellington. It's friendlier that Auckland rains less and the hills provide great views and exercise |

I found Welly better than Auckland. |

You poor old thing you.How old are you? When I lived in Wellington,I loved walking over all those hills.Auckland is ok if you like plenty of rain and humidity. And it will be a lot more expensive than Wellington. Some things might be free, but not much worth going to.But you appear hard to please anyway. Give me Wellington every time. |

wellington is better. the people are nice depending on where you live. move to tawa its so good. if your going to move up to auckland just for theme parks i recommend the gold coast. about the roads being tight, get a smaller car. also walking gives you exercise and there is a cable car. not all of wellington is hilly, the further out the better it is.
any way stay in wellington, if you move you'll reget it. |

The people are mean!!? No way.... I live in Wellington..
Auckland does have more entertainment - but I would never trade Welly with Aucks. |

Wellington. The only good thing about Auckland is the airport so you can leave..... |

Both cities are great! I would have to say Wellington though.
Wellington has much better scenery, and is 'cosy' if you like. Auckland is very much like Sydney, which isn't a bad thing, just very rushed.
Wellington is also much easier to get around, and is a lot safer in my opinion.
Having said that, Auckland is also good. Auckland is very spread out and has beaches.
I found the people in Wellington nicer! But that is just my opinion. The weather in Auckland is warmer though!
Thanks for the question :) |

Auckland is a great place. It has (as you said) Rainbow's End - the theme park and Auckland Zoo. Also, it has many malls and parks. There is Kelly Tarltons - an aquarium, Sky Tower - a large tower with bungy jumping and a revolving restaurant and Auckland Museum - Auckland has a lot to do! Another good thing is that many celebrities visit Auckland. Although Wellington is a nice place, I personally think Auckland is the best option. Hope I helped and Good Luck with your decision! |

I would have to say auckland
it brings in most of new zealands gdp.
also its great for hiking, because of its hilly environment.
Summer was very hot in auckland and saw hardly no rain.
Also auckland proved to be the warmest country in New Zealand in 07-feb 08
wellington gets to cold and windy |
