I've lived in Dunedin since i was 5, i'm 17 now. I don't think we actually realise how lucky we are to live here. I definitly take it for granted. But yup! It's great (except the weather). Don't let anyone tell you differently!

I have lived in NZ for 5 years and then left 3 years ago. I do not think NZ is a good place to live long term...for several reasons....first of all...it is a small country and the major source of income is farming and tourism and nothing else...most young and educated people leave the country for better pay and better life....so what this situation create.....if you are a migrant and want to choose NZ to migrate to I advise not to do so.....it is a waste of life and energy and money.....you will bring money to this country but there is nothing in return for you compared to what you have paid....they want to keep their own main stream new zealanders and are very concerned about the fact that most people are leaving in drove...therefore any where in the society you will experience this stupid behaviour...at schoold and University they kiwi children are superior no matter how hard you work....you will see a huge favorism...you are just there not as a human being but just as a $$$ sign....I can tell you pages and pages about the things I have experienced in NZ.....when I went there I was young, energetic , healthy and motivated...when I left or i'd better say ran away from there I was depressed, angry and dissapointed...I had lost my health for ever, my savings and all the years I could have spent in a better way....every day was a rip off....you feel this message from all of them....we are gold....our poo and urine is gold....if you want to stay here you should pay us lots and lots....work for free because you do not have NZ experience.....when I wanted to sell every thing I had they guy who told me he would sell them did not pay me anything..I rang him several times and he just laughed and when I asked a lawyer to sue him....even the lawyer was worse and he asked me twice the price of what I had....just because they have this mentality that foreigners are $$ signs no matter what....if they do not do this they do not have any other source of income apart from their sheeps and cows......so good luck....
