Well for a start we have very little risk of having terrorist attacks.
New Zealand is a beautiful country and has so many opportunities, you can travel to a beach in less than 30 minutes, the pepole here are friendly, the only bad thing here is the rising level of child abuse, its disgusting and puts our country to shame.
Our dollar/economy is better than most around the world at the moment. Our food is fresher, the water here in ChCh is the cleanest in the whole world. You cant beat a NZ summer when we have one. Lord of the Rings was made here. L&P was made here as was cookie time cookies. NZ music isnt too bad.
Whats NOT to like about it?? |

No I love New Zealand. Yes Iike to go overseas and experience other cultures and life but I always love returning home no matter how much fun I've had. I love how I can drive at the most 30mins to a great beachin the summer which is always swarming with dolphins and or an hour to the lakes, skiing and wakeboarding. The in winter it is just around an hour to the nearest ski field. I also love how easy going life in New Zealand is and how much safer it is compared to the majority of the reast of the world. Sure I might live overseas for a couple of years but I will always return back here. |

What we used to think of as our 'backwater' isolation has now become a much-sought after commodity: open spaces and a tiny population. Sure, NZ has its faults, like any country, but kiwis still give a damn, still punch above our weight on the world stage. There are worse places to live. |

As an Australian, I will honestly say there are only two countries in the world I would want to live in New Zealand (where do you think all the intelligent men in Australia come from?) or Australia (about the only place on this planet that has enough wide open spaces for little old claustrophobic me!)
From an Aussie perspective New Zealand has beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, wonderful people, an incredible and unique culture and a stable government! How many other countries can boast all of that?
lets count them Australia(apart from the not so occasional drought, raging fires and cyclone), the UK (has a bit of a problem getting safe to eat meat though) and New Zealand( no wait, I'm supposed to be comparing other countries to New Zealand) |

As a world weary globetrotter, let me just say it: Because of all those places out there, it still pisses me off the least.
There are only very few places which even come close to NZ's well-balanced, liberal, easy-going mix of plusses (in my opinion, they are Sweden, Wales, parts of France, and parts of the Netherlands). Oh, and Western Canada, too.
I've settled in NZ and even in my most sentimental moments, I realize that NZ is warmer than Sweden, funnier than Wales, cheaper than France, more spacious than the Netherlands, and has longer summers than Canada.
So, to make a long story short:
In a world of imperfect countries, NZ simply seems the best deal going. |

For all of you bored idiots New Zealand is one of the most stunning and safe countries in the world, first of all we are very welcoming, the crime is not as high as some countries like britian, we may have some racial problems but they are small. If we love the country, i think we are fine, if you don't want to live here just leave, here in new zealand we caqn live in harmony without much international criticism unlike the US of A. seriously we are abundant with water, we are full of culture and we enjoy one of the highest life expectancies and levels of lifestyle in the western world.
So there we go, just leave our country if you don't like it, we aren't for everyone just like other countries. If you do like us then you are gladly welcome.
And for you8 the writer i think you should just leave the country. |

School...college is cheap here :) Thats it, enough said!
To those people saying clean and green.
...New Zealand is not a green and clean country. WHY! look at your cars. Do people in NZ even maintain there exhaust system (emissions) NO! Plus we live near the South Antarctic = more Ozone damage! Even a small country like this damage even more than California. If you don't believe me...go ask your smart mechanic (if you have one) and they will tell you the truth. |

I live in the US now - in the middle of the Mojave desert. Clean and green is not something I see here and I miss it ... oh, do I miss it ... even if it is a little bit of a misnomer.
I don't think it's that insignificant either. Most people I meet here know at least something about New Zealand - about an actor, a singer, something about the country itself and all of them want to visit. Amazingly, a lot of them recognize the accent now, which made a nice change from my first visit over here 10 years ago where they all asked if I was Australian.
As for young Qld Rules ... nobody bags Australia. The migration of Kiwis to Australia is a fantastic thing. After all, it raises the IQ of both countries. |

Lol you'd be surprised. New Zealand isn't so bad. Except our crappy new Prime Minister and our pathetic excuse for a summer, it's alright here. I think we're pretty lucky to live here.

I totally Agree we should have discussion, The reason why New Zealand never moves forward is that they like to point out the Negatives and Cons of other country's eg. Australia.
And love to always use the old cliche the GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER IN NZ.
But never point out that the crime is high
Wages are low.
Economy stinks.
Country is cold and wet most of the time.
And the place is Boring no offense.
With all these issues that's why you have some 500 thousands Kiwis in OZ while you have only 80 thousand odd Aussie in NZ those stats are unbelievable.
But the good ''ol'' Kiwi cliche is that they are only living in OZ - (ONLY FOR THE MONEY) All I can is that's bull CRAP.
If Kiwis are a proud people you would stay in your own country to try to make your own country more advanced than trotting of to OZ and boosting Australia's economy. |
