 Cala D'or or Puerto Pollensa?
Which would be the best area to stay in with a 6 month old and 3 year old. Really after charm, rather than lots of English Pubs and a nice beach with calm shallow waters.

Many thanks....

The spanish are passionate and sociable people who generally know how to manage their work/life balance. There is a great respect and care for the family and all generations therein.

To witness what I think is the most representative aspect of Spanish life, go to any Spanish town at around six or seven in the evening. All the town is out in the street and the bar terraces - children, adults, pensioners - talking, walking, meeting and greeting, generally taking pleasure in each others company.

Spain geographically is also very varied. It is so much more than the costas. The large cities, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia etc. have all the cultural facilities you would expect. The northern provinces are beautiful natural areas that will never cease to astound.

If you hadn't guessed, I like Spain. I just moved away from Spain for work reasons, but I hope and expect to return as soon as I can.

Great and fantastic, or should that be fantastic and great! I love the country and the people, they are so friendly and welcoming. We moved here from the UK 1 year ago , to an inland town. From day one we could not have been made more welcome even though our lack of speaking the language was a barrier. Their culture and tradition is second to none. The only fault has to be their cruelty to animals which is slowly improving over the years.

Lived in Spain in School....loved it..

Went back last summer. Loved it just as much.

Favorite country. Favorite foreign language.

I consider myself quite the hispanista. Ask me anything.

Spain is great and very diverse, by the way. Every foreigner think that Spain is bullfighting, paella, siesta and flamenco. That may be true for AndalucĂa and the tourist spots in the Mediterranean area but not for many other regions.
Discover the North of Spain!!!!!!!!! is it really worth visiting Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country, The GREEN Spain. Please, don't be deterred by the idea of grey skies and rain, because it rains but not so much.

I am originally from the UK and now reside in Canada.
I visit Portugal every other year and I have been to Spain several times. I plan on going again next summer.
I can honestly say, that I love Spain. The language, her people and the sights are wonderful.

For me, it is very hard, as my husband comes from the Algarve in Portugal and I love Portugal also.

If I had to make a decision as to where I would live, Portugal or Spain, you would have to cut me in half so I could have both.

The lifestyle in Portugal is a bit more laid back than Spain. However, The Spanish people are truly alive especially in the late afternoon and evening after siesta. The Spanish culture itself is truly magnificent.

I guess you could say, that half of my heart is in Spain and the other in Portugal.
