Airline security.?

Can any recent travellers tell me, can you take Fruit on board .
(as drinks are band)
Also are books allowed,Im flying from Birmingham UK ,the rules seem different depending on what part of the country you depart.

Fruit and books should both be fine - it is just liquids, gels and the like that are a problem.
I flew to the USA last Saturday (and am on my way back today), and this is the case in both outbound and inbound directions.

It also depends on where you are going! If you are flying to USA it is much stricter. I would suggest asking your airline direct.

Fruit I'm not sure. OK for books.
Please note that hand baggage sizes have been reduced and if you don't respect them you get charged £5.00 and have to check in the bag! No fluids at all. Only medicines for diabetic people and babymilk that needs to be tasted by the parent. Check on the website of the airline you're going to use. Have a nice flight...I'm flying on sunday to London from Italy and the have the same procedures. Ciao

Look at the website for the airport. Though i thought that you cant take it through security but you can buy it in the departure lounge to take on board. The restictions seem to apply mostly to non solid things

You should check the website of the airline you are travelling with and the Birmingham airport website. They should provide you with an overview of what is allowed and what is still banned.

Plus some airlines are restricting the size of carry on you can bring on
