Analyzation of music in spain?

i was wondering if you could compare the music in spain to other types of music. Basicly what makes Spains music so unique and different? What instruments and styles are used?

any information regarding that would be greatly appreciated or if you wanna forward me some good links

I was recently surprised, (although why should I have been?) by how similar Iraqi music on Smithsonian Folkways website was to Flamenco. Have a look and check up on the Califates ruling Spain way back.

Music. Check up on Flamenco, sevillanas, saetas, jotas. sardanas, goigs, caramelles, and zarzuelas.

Instruments. try Bandurrias, Gaitas and grallers.

Spanish music is very varied.
