I live in Mallorca and Santa Ponsa is nice and is more for families and couples. Also you may like Palma Nova which is joined on to Magaluf but is a heck of a lot quieter! I would come in June or September because July/August is roasting!

yes i've been to santa ponsa twice and i love it, i don't like clubbing either but like going to bars, there's a great atmosphere in it, the beach is lovely and there's plenty to do, if you go take a taxi to golf fantasia in palma nova, a great day out. i wish i was going this year again. have a great time.

Our most popular hotel in Santa Ponsa is the Barcelo Jardin Del Mar...it has a 4/5 rating and some good reviews from people who booked with us to stay there. Here is an example:

We thought this was an excellent hotel with marvellous views over the bay.(ask for sea view when booking). The rooms are spacious and well equiped with a small kitchen facility and table and chairs. Very clean and well maintained (I own a contract cleaning business, so trust me I know about cleaning standards!) The Hotel is well placed in a quiet part of the resort but easy walk to the shops and beach. We stayed for 2 days half board and thought the food was ok. I would have needed a longer stay to make an observation about the variety and quality of the food but what we had was certainly edible, if not very exicting. That having been said, many people will go to this hotel and self cater anyway. Lovely pools and a play area for the little kids - we have a three year old and he loved it!
So all in all I can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants decent qualty at a fair price.

im going to santa ponsa this year i went for the first time last year and had the best holiday ever im scottish and the place has a lot of scottish and irish and the best atmosphere for a great holiday with everything on your doorstep

They are both nice places but judging by what you said i reckon Rhodes would suit you down to the ground. We went to Pefkos a couple of years ago and its the best place i have ever been. Pricing wont be much different and the beaches are fanastic, way of life is laid back and the food is unbelieable. Do your self a favour and just check it out on the web.
